Action taken on many misleading advertisements
The guidelines issued by the government are aimed at protecting the interests of customers, curbing unfair trade practices and cracking down on misleading claims. It was also told by the government that during the Corona epidemic, action was taken on all the misleading advertisements.
What is Missleading Ad
An advertisement that gives false information about a product or service is subject to missleading. If any such claim is made on behalf of the company which does not match with the product, then it will be called misleading advertisement.
Apart from this, if necessary information is being hidden about the product, then it will also come under the purview of misleading.
Disclaimer must be clearly stated
It was also said in the guideline that any kind of unreasonable claim for children will be banned. If this happens, strict action will be taken against both the endorser and the endorser.
The disclaimer must also be clearly stated. Surrogate advertising has been banned under the guideline. Can’t say to buy early in any ad.
Have enough stock on offer
If the company is claiming special offer or half rate in the advertisement, then it will have to keep enough stock for this. It has been seen many times that after making such offers, the company says that the stock is exhausted.
Apart from this, if the conditions are said to be applicable along with the claim of free, then it will also be considered as a misleading advertisement.
