Modi Govt Planning to double farmers’ income: Modi government is continuously focusing on doubling the income of farmers. Keeping this in mind, the government started Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Yojana for poor farmers. In the cabinet meeting itself yesterday, it has been decided to increase the MSP of crops. This is the biggest increase in MSP after Modi government came to power. On the other hand, this year there is expected to be a record production of main crops in the country.

Expected to produce 1.40 crore tonnes more grains

According to the estimates released by the Ministry of Agriculture, 1.40 crore tonnes more grain production is expected in 2022-23 as compared to 2021-22. With all these figures, the Modi government’s promise of doubling the income of farmers can be fulfilled. The recent report of NABARD has revealed that 10 crore farmer families are dependent on farming. The share of agriculture in GDP has also increased rapidly in the last two years. In 2020-21, the share of Agri sector in GDP has increased from 17.8 percent to 20 percent.

10 crore families will benefit!

10 crore families will directly benefit from the increase in farmers’ income. According to the data released by the government, record production of main crops is expected this time. Regarding this, Union Agriculture and Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, the farmers of the country are continuously working hard. Under the leadership of PM Modi, schemes related to farmers are being implemented by the Agriculture Ministry. The effect of everyone’s efforts is being seen in the form of record production in agriculture.

Production expected to increase to 32.96 crore tonnes

According to the data released by the Agriculture Ministry, production is expected to increase to 329.6 million tonnes in 2022-23. This is 1.40 crore tonnes more than 31.56 crore tonnes in 2021-22. Not only this, the current year’s grain production is 39 million tonnes more than the average production of the last five years. The ministry expects the production this year to be 135.7 million tonnes of rice, 110.5 million tonnes of wheat, 57.3 million tonnes of coarse grains and 38 million tonnes of maize. The production of sugarcane is estimated to be 4,905 lakh tonnes and cotton to be 3.36 crore tonnes.

Fruit production 11 crore tons

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar also said that horticulture production can be more than 35 crore tonnes. This is also 1.37 percent more than last year. Fruit production is expected to increase this year.
