Delhi Excise Policy case : The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has taken major action on Monday in connection with the scam in Delhi Excise Policy. The ministry has suspended the then Excise Commissioner Arva Gopi Krishna and Deputy Commissioner Anand Tiwari on charges of irregularities. Following the recommendation of Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, the Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended Delhi Excise Commissioner Gopi Krishna and Deputy Excise Commissioner Anand Kumar Tiwari.

11 officers named in the investigation report

It is worth noting that earlier the names of 11 officers had appeared in the investigation report related to the new excise policy. Out of them, 9 officers had already been suspended by the Lieutenant Governor. Also, the suspension of these 2 officers was recommended to the Ministry of Home Affairs, because the right of suspension of these two officers is with the Ministry of Home Affairs.

According to sources, the information about the suspension of these officers has been given by the Lieutenant Governor’s office to the Chief Secretary of Delhi and the concerned departments of the Delhi Government. Recently, the CBI had raided the house of both these officers as well.

CBI FIR in scam

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is one of the 15 names mentioned in the CBI FIR registered in connection with alleged irregularities in the excise policy implemented in November last year. The FIR alleged that Sisodia, Krishna, Tiwari and others had made recommendations and decisions regarding the excise policy for the year 2021-22 with the intention of giving undue advantage to the licensees without the approval of the competent authority. played an important role in.

Raid on Sisodia’s residence

The probe agency on Friday raided Sisodia’s house and several other places in connection with the case, triggering a war of words between the AAP-led Delhi government and the Centre. The raids continued for several hours, with the AAP saying that the Narendra Modi-led central government was using central agencies as it fears the rising popularity of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal for his good governance.
