Kanpur Violence: A new video of the violence that took place in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh has surfaced. The video is from near the mosque on the new road, in which the miscreants are seen throwing petrol and stones. The rioters are seen in hundreds. In the video that surfaced, the miscreants run into the street after throwing petrol bombs and stone bombs. Some people stand there and watch the stone pelting.

Police released poster

Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Police released a poster containing photographs of 40 people, who were caught on camera participating in the violence that broke out in Kanpur on Friday. People were given a WhatsApp number to inform the police if they had any information about the alleged miscreants.

The police have assured that the identities of the informers will not be revealed. The FIR mentions the involvement of 1,000 unidentified persons.

What is the whole matter?

After Friday prayers on June 3, some people pelted stones and pelted bombs on attempts to shut down shops in protest against ‘derogatory’ remarks on the Prophet Muhammad. Clashes broke out in Parade, Nai Sadak and Yatimkhana areas of Kanpur. During this, bombs were thrown and bullets were fired.

Local leaders including Maulana Mohammad Ali (MMA) Jauhar Fans Association chief Hayat Zafar Hashmi had called for the closure of shops last Friday (June 3) to protest the remarks.

Heavy police force was deployed in the areas after the violence. Strict instructions have been issued to keep a close watch on the situation of arson and to ensure that there is no further violence.
