National Herald Case: Before the ED’s questioning of Sonia Gandhi, the Congress has prepared a strategy for the protest and a meeting of senior leaders was also held at the party headquarters regarding this. Sonia is to be questioned for the second round on Tuesday.
National Herald Case: Congress President Sonia Gandhi will be questioned for the second round on Tuesday in the money laundering case related to the National Herald. During this, the Congress party has prepared a plan for protests inside and outside the Parliament.
On Monday, a meeting of Congress general secretaries, party’s state in-charges and MPs was held at the party headquarters, in which the strategy to protest against the questioning was discussed. Even before this, during the first round of interrogation, Congress had demonstrated across the country and many big leaders were detained.
Congress leaders made a plan
Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal said that Congress wanted to hold a Satyagraha at Rajghat, but permission was not received from Delhi Police and Section 144 has been imposed there. “Modi government cannot bow down to us and party MPs will protest on this issue inside Parliament,” he said.
Party leaders and workers will demonstrate solidarity towards Sonia Gandhi at the Congress headquarters. Sonia will appear before the ED on Tuesday for the next round of questioning.
The ED had on Thursday conducted the first round of questioning of the Congress President for two hours in a money laundering case related to the National Herald newspaper. During this, a team of doctors and an ambulance were also deployed along with the Congress President so that immediate treatment could be provided to him if his health deteriorated.
Recently, Sonia Gandhi has recovered from Corona and for this reason she had sought time to appear before the ED. During the first round of interrogation, his daughter Priyanka Gandhi had also reached the ED office twice to inquire about his condition.
Performance during the first round of questioning
At the same time, in protest against the questioning of Sonia Gandhi, the Congress demonstrated strength across the country and the party leaders made arrests. For this reason, Delhi Police has made elaborate preparations before Tuesday’s interrogation so that there is no disturbance.
On the other hand, 4 Congress MPs have been suspended for the entire session on Monday for creating a ruckus in the Lok Sabha and all of them can no longer take part in the proceedings of the House. The Congress is constantly making the ED’s questioning of Sonia an issue and has been demonstrating in both the houses of Parliament regarding this.
