UGC Released a New List of Fake Universities : Delhi has the highest number of fake universities in the country. There are 8 fake universities in Delhi, 4 in Uttar Pradesh and 2 each in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. UGC has released a list and recommended action against fake universities.
UGC Released a New List of Fake Universities : The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the list of fake universities running in various states. According to UGC, it has also recommended action against these institutions running without recognition. UGC says that Delhi has the highest number of fake universities in the country. A total of 8 fake universities are running in the national capital Delhi. After Delhi, there are 4 fake universities in Uttar Pradesh and 2 each in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. One fake university each has been detected in Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra and Puducherry.
The universities of Delhi which UGC has declared fake include All India Institute of Public Health and Physical Health Sciences – Alipore, Commercial University Limited – Daryaganj, United Nations University Vocational University ADR-Centric Juridical University – Rajendra Place, Indian Institute of Science & Engineering, Vishwakarma Open University for Self-Employment, GTK Depot and Spiritual University, Rohini.
Letter sent for immediate action against fake universities
UGC says that a letter has been written to the Chief Secretaries of the concerned state governments and the Education Department for action against these fake universities. Commission Secretary Professor Manish R. Taking action, Joshi has also issued notices directly to these universities. UGC says that a letter has been written to the Chief Secretaries of all these states to ensure immediate and strict action.
List of fake universities published on official website
It is noteworthy that last year also many fake universities had come to light across the country, the list of which was released by UGC. Now UGC has released a new list of fake universities. The Commission has published the list of fake universities on its official website. Apart from Delhi, the universities in Uttar Pradesh which have been found fake include Gandhi Hindi Vidyapeeth-Prayagraj, National University of Electro Complex Homeopathy – Kanpur, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Open University – Aligarh, and Indian Council of Education – Lucknow.
