Gujarat Police Salary Hike: The decision comes days after Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal raised the issue during his Gujarat visit.
Gujarat Police Salary Hike: On the occasion of 75 years of independence, the Gujarat government has given a big gift to the policemen of the state. The Bhupendra Patel government of Gujarat has approved an annual fund of Rs 550 crore after protests over the salary hike issue of policemen.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said in a tweet, ‘A committee was constituted for this after considering various representations and demands of the employees of the Police Department.’ The committee met on several occasions under the chairmanship of Patel.
“Accepting these meetings and the recommendations of the committee, an annual fund of Rs 550 crore has been approved keeping in mind the welfare of police personnel and their family members,” he said in a Twitter post. He said that on April 20, 2022, a report was submitted to the state home department and after that a decision was taken to allocate Rs 550 crore for it.
Now how much will be the salary
Along with the hike in salary, the annual salary of Lok Rakshak Dal (LRD) personnel, police constables, police head constables and assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs) has increased to Rs 3.47 lakh, Rs 4.16 lakh, Rs 4.95 lakh and Rs 5.84 lakh respectively. Whereas, the current salary is Rs 2.51 lakh, Rs 3.63 lakh, Rs 4.36 lakh and Rs 5.19 lakh respectively.
