INS Vikrant to join Navy today : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will first dedicate the first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to the service of the nation at the Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi at 9:30 am today.

INS Vikrant to join Navy today : Today is the second day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Karnataka. In Kochi, PM Modi will inaugurate the indigenous aircraft carrier and induct that ship into the Navy. Apart from this, the naval flag (mark) will also be unveiled. On this special occasion, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate various projects in Mangaluru for the common people. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will also be present in this program.

The country will get its own aircraft carrier

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will first dedicate the first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant to the service of the nation at 9:30 am today at the Cochin Shipyard Limited in Kochi. He will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 3800 crore in Mangaluru at 1:30 pm. During the program, the PM will also unveil the new flag of the Navy, which is a symbol of the rich and rich Indian maritime heritage, different from the colonial past.

What is INS Vikrant

The first indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant is being considered as a significant step towards self-reliance in the defense sector. The ship was indigenously designed and developed into an aircraft carrier by the name of INS Vikrant. It has been designed by the Indian Navy’s own organization Warship Design Bureau and built by the Cochin Shipyard Limited, a public sector shipyard company under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. The Vikrant is built with state-of-the-art automatic features and is the largest ever built ship in India’s maritime history.

The indigenous aircraft carrier is named after its noted predecessor and India’s first aircraft carrier, which played an important role in the 1971 war. The ship is equipped with all indigenous equipment and instruments, in which the country’s leading industrial houses and more than 100 micro, small and medium enterprises were involved. With the launch of Vikrant, India will have two active aircraft carriers, which will give a lot of strength to the country’s maritime security.

Will inaugurate or lay the foundation stone of these important projects-

It has been told that the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects costing about Rs 3800 crore in Mangaluru.

For the purpose of handling containers and other cargo operated by PM Nav Mangalore Port Authority, dock no. Will inaugurate a project costing more than Rs 280 crore for the mechanization of 14.
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of five projects to be operated by the port, costing about Rs 1000 crore.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate two projects, ie BS-VI Upgradation Project and Seawater Desalination Project, run by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited. The BS-VI upgradation project is worth about Rs 1830 crore, which will create highly pure fuel for the environment with BS-VI standard.
Similarly, seawater desalination project costing about Rs 680 crore will reduce dependence on fresh water and ensure regular supply of hydrocarbons and petrochemicals throughout the year.
