Assembly Elections 2023 Results: In the counting of assembly elections in four states, BJP is going to form the government with full majority in three and Congress in one. BJP has a bumper victory in Madhya Pradesh. This time lotus is blooming in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh also. At the same time, KCR’s government which has been running in Telangana for the last 10 years has suffered a setback. Congress has won in Telangana. Neither BJP nor Congress had announced their respective CM faces for these four states. Now the question is who among them will become the Chief Minister.
Crown may adorn Shivraj’s head in Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh can once again crown Shivraj Singh Chouhan as CM. He is one of the most prominent leaders of BJP in the state. Shivraj was in the fray from Budhni assembly seat. This constituency has been his stronghold since 2006.
Shivraj won his first assembly election from Budhni in 1990 and reached the Lok Sabha for the first time when he was elected MP from Vidisha in 1991. After this, he once again won the Budhni Assembly seat in 2006 and has retained his hold on this constituency till date. Shivraj Chauhan is the leader who has held the post of CM in MP for the longest time. He became Chief Minister for the first time in 2005.
Mahant Balaknath may get a chance in Rajasthan
In Rajasthan, BJP MP Mahant Balaknath is also considered to be in the race for the post of CM. Like Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Alwar MP Mahant Balaknath also comes from the Nath community and has a large number of followers and supporters in his parliamentary constituency.
BJP had fielded him from Tijara seat, where he won the election. On this seat he was competing against Imran Khan of Congress. Balaknath defeated him by 6173 votes. While talking to news agency ANI, Balaknath had claimed that BJP would win 120 seats. However, BJP has won 115 seats in the state.
Balaknath said that people wanted to get rid of Congress which was the reason for BJP’s easy victory. He targeted Rajasthan Congress on the issues of corruption, atrocities on women and increasing crimes.
40 year old Balaknath took sannyasa at the age of just 6 years. His family members wanted Balaknath to become a saint. Balaknath says that he always wants to serve the society.
Former CM Vasundhara Raje is also a contender
The name of BJP leader and former Chief Minister Vasudhanra Raje is also being considered among the contenders for the post of CM in Rajasthan. She has been a Union Minister in the cabinet of Atal Bihar Vajpayee government. At present she is the national vice president of BJP.
Vasundhara Raje entered politics in 1984. She has also been an MLA from Dholpur, Rajasthan. He won the assembly elections from Jhalrapatan in 2003, 2008, 2013 and 2018. At the same time, she has also been a Lok Sabha member between 1989-91, 1991-96, 1996-98, 1998-99 and 1999-03.
In 2018, he defeated Manvendra Singh of Congress by 25000 votes. This time he has defeated Congress candidate Ramlal from Jhalrapatan by 53193 votes.
Former Chief Minister Raman Singh can also become CM
In Chhattisgarh, former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Raman Singh is considered to be the frontrunner in the race for the post of CM. His political career started by joining the youth wing of the party in 1966-67. In 1983, he became a councilor of Kawardha Municipality.
In 1990, he was elected MLA from Kawardha assembly seat of undivided Madhya Pradesh. In 1999, he became MP from Rajnandgaon seat. He was also the Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry between 1999 and 2003.
In 2003, he became the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. He has become the CM of Chhattisgarh thrice. He is MLA from Rajnandgaon seat since 2008. This time he has defeated Congress’s Girish Dewangan from Rajnandgaon by 45,084 votes.
Revanth Reddy can be made CM in Telangana
Under the leadership of Telangana Congress President Revanth Reddy, the party has performed well in the assembly elections and defeated the 10-year-old BRS government. Reddy is being given credit for the victory by party workers and meanwhile there is talk that he can be made the Chief Minister of Telangana.
Reddy has also previously been an MLA from Telugu Desam Party. He was also once a member of ABVP. In 2021, he took over the post of Congress State President. He visited many constituencies to strengthen the party. He was even successful in getting many BRS leaders to join the Congress.
In this election, Reddy was contesting from two seats Kamareddy and Kodangal. CM KCR himself was his opponent from BRS in Kamareddy but BJP leader Kattipalli Venkata Raman Reddy has won this seat. However, Revanth Reddy has been successful in winning the election from Kodangal seat. In Kodangal, he defeated BRS’s Patnam Narendra Reddy by 32,532 votes.
