Draupadi Murmu Oath Ceremony: The country’s newly elected President Draupadi Murmu will take the oath of office today. The swearing-in ceremony will take place in the Central Hall of Parliament at 10:15 am. Chief Justice NV Raman will administer the oath to him. During this there will be a salute of 21 guns.

The President’s address will also take place after the swearing-in. Draupadi Murmu is the first woman tribal president of the country. Outgoing President Ram Nath Kovind and elected President Draupadi Murmu will reach Parliament before the ceremony.

Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, members of the Council of Ministers, Governors, Chief Ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, Members of Parliament and heads of government civil and military officials will attend the ceremony.

At the conclusion of the ceremony in the Central Hall of Parliament, the President will leave for the ‘Rashtrapati Bhavan’, where he will be presented with an ‘Inter-Service Guard of Honour’ and will be accorded courtesy respect to the outgoing President.

Here is the full program

8.15 hrs- Draupadi Murmu will leave for Rajghat from her residence.
8.30 am – Draupadi Murmu will reach Rajghat.
8.40 pm- Murmu will return to her residence.
9.22 am – Draupadi Murmu will reach Rashtrapati Bhavan.
9.42 pm – There will be a swearing-in program in Rashtrapati Bhavan.
10 o’clock – Draupadi Murmu will reach the gate number 5 of the Parliament House. Here PM Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will welcome him.
10.15 pm – The swearing-in program will begin.
10.23 am – Draupadi Murmu will address the people present in the Central Hall.
10.57 am – Draupadi Murmu will reach Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Elected President Draupadi Murmu will reach Raj Ghat at 8.30 am and will pay floral tributes. After this, the elected President will reach the North Court of Rashtrapati Bhavan at 9.22 am. She will go to the Study/Cauvery (Committee Hall) where the President will receive her. President Kovind and the elected President will leave the Study/Cauvery (Committee Hall) for the Durbar Hall.

The President’s bodyguards will give the national salute at the saluting stage in the forecourt. President Kovind will take the salute. After this the President and the elected President will reach the Parliament. The elected President will take the oath of office. After this, a 21-gun salute will be given. Draupadi Murmu will then address the Parliament.
