Muhammad bin Abdullah Mosque : Mumbai, All India Raabta-e-Masjid (AIRM), an organization of all the mosques in the country, has decided to name the proposed mosque in Dhannipur in Ayodhya district of Uttar Pradesh as ‘Muhammad bin Abdullah Mosque’ after the Prophet. The decision was announced at the AIRM conference held here on the initiative of BJP leader Haji Arafat Sheikh with the participation of all senior clerics from different Muslim sects.
The Dhannipur Masjid site is about 22 km away from the original site of the centuries-old Babri Masjid. Babri Masjid was demolished on 6 December 1992, now the construction of the grand Lord Ram temple is about to be completed at this place. Haji Arafat Sheikh said that the new mosque to be built on the allotted site after the Supreme Court decision in November 2019 promises to be the largest mosque in India.
9,000 devotees including 5,000 men and 4,000 women will be able to offer namaz together in the mosque. The entire mosque complex, with the purchase of additional land through our resources, will also have medical, educational and social facilities. Other speakers said that the Supreme Court had granted 5 acres of land for the new mosque, and there are plans to purchase 6 acres of land to provide additional facilities to make it a landmark project.
Haji Arafat Sheikh said that the work on the grand ‘Muhammad Bin Abdullah Mosque’ complex, which was delayed due to some differences between different groups, is now going to start soon at the Dhannipur site. A symbolic brick for the foundation ceremony was also handed over to officials representing Sunni Waqf Board of India, Indo-Islamic Cultural Foundation of India, Salamati Peer Dargah Trust and other key organizations associated with the mega-project.
