Successors of Swami Swaroopanand: Shankaracharya of Dwarkapeeth Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati was given a final farewell with state honors in the presence of thousands of people. Along with this, his successors have also been announced. Shankaracharya Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati breathed his last on Sunday at the age of 99.

The names of the successors of Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati, Shankaracharya of Dwarkapeeth, have also been announced. Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has been declared as the head of Jyotishpeeth Badrinath and Swami Sadanand Saraswati as the head of Dwarka Sharda Peeth. The names of these two were announced in front of the body of Shankaracharya by Swami Subudhanand Saraswati, the personal secretary of Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand was born in the Brahminpur village of Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. His real name is Umashankar. When he took the initiation of celibacy, his name was Brahmachari Anand Swaroop. After this he received initiation from Swaroopanand and became known as Dandi Swami Avimukteshwaranand. Avimukteshwaranand camped in Varanasi for a long time. He was already handling the work of Jyotirmath Badrikashram with Sri Vidya Math. He has given statements on many controversial issues. He is considered an opponent of Sai Baba.

The name of Swami Sadanand, who belongs to Madhya Pradesh Narsinghpur, is Ramesh Awasthi. This name was given by his parents. But when he took the initiation of celibacy, he came to be called Brahmachari Sadananda. Swaroopanand Saraswati had entrusted the responsibility of Dwarka Peeth to Swami Sadanand. At the age of 18, he took the hand of Shankaracharya. At present, he has been looking after the work of Dwarka Sharda Peeth in Gujarat as the representative of Shankaracharya.
