The farmer performed the last rites of the buffalo as per the rituals : When a buffalo died, the animal herder performed its last rites. Immersed his ashes and also performed the thirteenth day rituals. The incident took place in Charkhi village of Haryana. Animal farmer Sukhbir told that this buffalo was a part of the ‘Laadli’ family.
The farmer performed the last rites of the buffalo as per the rituals : In Charkhi village of Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana, a unique case has come to light that after the death of a farmer’s buffalo, along with performing its rituals, its thirteenth day was also performed. Animal farmer Sukhbir told that when the buffalo died, he performed its last rites and not only immersed its ashes but also performed the rituals of Thirteenth Day. He told that the buffalo was called “Ladli” in the family and the family also organized a funeral feast. He told that apart from relatives, villagers were also invited for the funeral feast.
Sukhbir told that his buffalo gave birth to 24 Padiyas, most of which were raised by his own family. Sukhbir told that this buffalo was born in his house during the time of his father Risal Singh. He told that the buffalo died at about 29 years of age. He told that this buffalo was auspicious for his family and he considered it a member of the family. According to the information, Sukhbir’s family served food made with desi ghee to the people at the funeral feast of buffalo. On getting information about this incident, people from far and wide reached the village and appreciated Sukhbir’s love for animals.
Three generations drank milk and made the family rich
Sukhbir told that our entire family is indebted to this buffalo. Our father brought it and it served our entire family for 29 years. This buffalo was reared with lots of love and affection and we bid farewell to it with full respect. While people in the society avoid hosting funerals for their relatives, our family organized it for the buffalo.
