TMC MP Mahua Moitra cash for query case : New Delhi. The troubles of TMC MP Mahua Moitra, who is caught in the cash for query case in Parliament, are increasing. Quoting sources, it is reported that the Ethics Committee has recommended the expulsion of Mahua from Parliament.
The Ethics Committee has considered Mahua’s conduct as objectionable, unethical, heinous and criminal. Also, a thorough, legal, institutional investigation has been recommended to the Central Government in a timely manner. The committee said that the cash transactions between Mahua Moitra and businessman Darshan Hiranandani should be investigated by the Centre.
What is the whole matter?
Parliamentary Ethics Committee Chairman Vinod Sonkar had said that businessman Darshan Hiranandani has made serious allegations against TMC MP Mahua-Moitra. In his 3-page signed affidavit to the ethics panel, Darshan Hiranandani had admitted his friendship with TMC MP Mahua Moitra and claimed that the Lok Sabha member saw attacking the Adani Group as a path to fame.
He further said, ‘Mahua Moitra became MP in the Lok Sabha elections 2019. He was advised by his friends that the shortest path to fame was to attack Narendra. Gautam Adani and Narendra Modi both come from Gujarat. This is the easiest way to attack the PM.
What is Mahua Moitra’s side?
Mahua Moitra rejected the allegations and called it a conspiracy by BJP. He had written on the social media site X (earlier Twitter), ‘The Chairman of the Ethics Committee talks openly to the media. Please see Lok Sabha Rules. How does an “affidavit” reach the media? The chairman should first investigate how this leak happened. I repeat – BJP’s one-point agenda is to expel me from Lok Sabha to silence me on Adani.
