Tragic School Trip Mishap in Islamabad : A major accident has been witnessed in Islamabad. A teacher has died and 20 people, including students, have been injured after a school bus fell into a ditch near Shahdara area. When this accident happened on Saturday, the students were going on a school trip.
According to the report of Pakistani media channel Geo News, the police said that the engine of the vehicle was started, while the driver was standing outside and suddenly the bus started going down the hill and fell into the ditch.
The police have also confirmed one death and several injured students, and also said that the children have been brought from Sheikhupura to Islamabad.
Reportedly, there were 54 people on the bus, including 13 teachers and other staff, 22 boys and 19 girls. The deceased teacher has been identified as 22-year-old Haniya. After the accident, the rescue team reached the spot and took the injured people to hospitals.
13 injured students were taken to Poly Clinic Hospital and 8 to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
At the time of the incident, when the bus stopped at the spot, some passengers got off the bus. According to a report, the driver was arrested after the accident. Islamabad Inspector General of Police (IGP) ordered to register a case over the incident.
Earlier this month, a woman was killed and eight, including children, were injured in a road accident in Karachi’s Sherra Faisal. According to the police, the accident took place near the Colony Gate bus stop on November 10, when a speeding bus went out of the driver’s control and hit a family and other people traveling on a motorcycle.
