Vivek Ramaswamy Job Cut: The race for the presidential elections has started in America. Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy, who is in the race to become the Republican Party candidate in the presidential elections, has made a big announcement. He said that if he wins the 2024 elections, he will remove more than 75 percent of the employees of the federal government and close many important agencies like the FBI.
In an interview given to American news website ‘Axios’, Ramaswamy said that his targets would be the Education Department, FBI, Excise, Tobacco, Bureau of Arms and Explosives, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, (Internal Revenue Service) IRS and Commerce Department.
‘Will start work from day one’
“We will start from day one, and we want to reduce the number of employees by 50 percent by the end of the first year,” Ramaswamy was quoted as saying. He said, it should be kept in mind that 30 percent of these employees will reach retirement age in the next five years. Therefore it is justified. There is no doubt about this. But it is not as strange as it sounds. According to ‘Axios’, Ramaswamy has said that his aim is to remove 75 percent of the 22 lakh employees in four years.
More than 16 lakh will become unemployed!
According to ‘New York Times’, about 22 lakh 50 thousand people work in the federal government. Removing more than 75 percent of the workforce means that more than 1.6 million people will be laid off, which will save billions of dollars in the federal budget. However, due to this, important work of the government will also be stopped.
